Insurance Good News

After numerous letters of referral and countless e-mails, we got the good news that our insurance will cover the referred specialist for Gabby. I completed all paperwork today and sent it off so we will probably have an appointment soon with Little Miracles to see what is the best treatment for Gabby's hip and bow leg. Thanks to those who kept this in their thoughts & prayers. I'll keep you updated once I know more.

My Last MK Order

I have made the decision to discontinue selling Mary Kay. I’ve enjoyed the mommy money it has provided me the last 4 years but more importantly I’ve GREATLY enjoyed the wonderful women I have meet and have had as customers during that time. THANK YOU ALL FOR SUPPORTING ME! YOU HAVE HELPED ME MORE THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW!

I absolutely LOVE MK products and am going to continue to use them myself but I need that time & energy in other places like with my 2 kids, full-time job and Dan’s hectic schedule now that’s he almost done with school.

Update 3: Dan

Can you believe it! Dan will be done with his Law Enforcement program in 1 month! I'm so proud of him and can't wait to celebrate. His graduation is Saturday, May 17th and after the ceremony we are going to have a BBQ at our house. All family and friends are invited so mark your calendars. On a bummer note, it doesn't look like Rapid City Police Dept will be hiring until the fall or next spring so Dan has begun working on plan B...to be hired at Pennington County Jail. Today, as I type this, he is completing their testing requirements. Keep your fingers crossed for him. He was a bit nervous and antsy but he'll do great.

Update 2: Gabby

Gabby has hip dysplasia and has begun having regular chirapractor adjustments. Her ex-rays show that the bones aren't deformed (praise God) but that her muscles don't support them to stay in place. She will need to see a specialist and physical therapist which (of course) or new insurance company doesn't cover. We have appealed and are in the waiting game. Please keep this a priority. Then we were beginning to get concerned that at almost 15 months she still doesn't have teeth and were suggested to get ex-rays for that. But I'm happy to report 1 on the bottom finally broke through so we aren't going to worry so much about teeth. So, just as I begin to think this week is going pretty smoothly we get a call from daycare that the little pumpkin has pink eye...GROSS! So I had to miss 2 half days this week to stay home with a crabby girl. She really doesn't like the drops but at least she doesn't have the eye gunk anymore!

Update 1: car

I haven't chatted in awhile so I'm going to try to catch you up lots of little updates. The first one will be about my car. Some of you are aware that the timing belt broke when Dan & the kids were coming back from Spring break the first week in March. Well, to make a long story short what started as a $500 estimate is now at $2000. The frustrating part is that we were considering selling or trading in the car for months but never did it. Then during our Financial Peace class, we are taking thru church, we both felt really challenged to be free of car payments. By divine appointment, Dan's parents offered to give us their old Honda Accord to drive until we sell and recover from my Jetta whether that takes months or years. Thankful things worked out for us cause we have more important things to worry about than cars. Like Gabby...(see next update)

Update on the boys

We had a wonderful weekend with Michi and Alan.

Friday they went skiing and were pretty exhausted from a fun day. That evening I made a very big dinner for them and we relaxed and watched a movie.

Saturday we tried to show them our life by going to our supermarket, places of work, favorite parks and stores. We went out to our close friend’s farm. They got to see a brand new baby calf and see life in the country. We then went swimming at our neighborhood swim center and went to McDonalds for dinner. It was a busy day for everyone but I know Alan & Michi had a lot of fun.

Sunday they attended church with us. I think they were a bit bored but were welcomed by everyone. We went to lunch afterwards at our favorite Mexican restaurant. In the evening we had to go to a class that Dan and I are taking…again probably boring them. We meet back together with the rest of the families and students for dinner at a Chinese restaurant. I think they enjoyed seeing the other students and sharing their experiences together. We had some time with the interpreter and he told us that they understand us quite a lot and are having a really good time.

Monday they left us till today. Monday they were to go to Mt. Rushmore but another snow storm blew through so they changed a couple days around. They instead went to a Mammoth site and swimming. Tuesday they would have seen beautiful Custer State Park and Mt. Rushmore. I’m so glad they waited because it is a very beautiful day. The sun is shining and the fresh snow is so amazing on the mountains.

I will pick them up after work today and they are going to make dinner for us. We look forward to that special treat! I can’t believe our time together is going so quickly. I asked if they wanted to call home but said they were okay. We are keeping them so busy I don’t think they’ve had much time to miss home.

I'm so glad April is here. I seems like it will be a quieter month for us. Chat with you more later...
