New Car

I'm happy to report that the VW Jetta is gone! Praise God! After a year of stress and a few thousands of dollars down the tube it was time to find something different. Last week I got a new car. I have loving my Nissan Maxima and am so happy to have something reliable, safe and fast!!! It actually makes me excited for my next road trip!

Easter Pictures

For Easter the kids and I packed it up for a 4 day road trip. We spent time with both sets of Grandparents and had a great time. Even though were busy driving all over, the Easter Bunny did find us which made the kids VERY happy. Gabby still talks about the Bunny and going Bye-Bye!

Here are the kids Easter pictures:

Zac turned 5

I can't believe Zac is 5! He is such a big guy. Very into K-nex (like legos), Transformers, movies, soccer and now girls. Yes, he has 2 girlfriends--Annabelle his summer girlfriend and Maggie his church girlfriend. I just don't know if we are ready for such a big guy. We recently met with his teacher and he is totally ready for Kindergarten and will begin that in the Fall. In the meantime he is wrapping up Pre-K and will actually graduate on May 22! He has his first soccer game and loved it. If you are ever interested in watching him play some Saturday in May, let me know.

Here is the link to his 5 year photo shoot...what a Rock Star! Check them out if you have time:

New Church & New Activities

It was a very hard decision but Dan & I sought out a new Church. We are really enjoying were we are currently and the many activities it offers to all of us. In order to get involved and meet new people, Dan & I signed up for the church co-ed volleyball league. We play Thursday nights; we enjoy meeting new people and getting active together. It's been a long time since I've played and Dan never played structured volleyball before, but I must proudly say we are pretty good. I'm looking into a summer sand league for us to join currently!

Dan has a job!

It's been a long time coming but Dan finally has a full-time job in his field. He has been hired with M.G. Oil as their night time security officer. MG owns 20+ gas stations and casinos in the Rapid City area and he patrols between them and responds to any issues or calls. He's only been out of training a month and has already dealt with some interesting situations. I honestly didn't know that gas stations/casinos are so scary at night! We are hoping the full-time security experience will give him an edge next RCPD hiring.

It's been a bit of a change for everyone for Dan to be noctural but we are getting adjusted. Dan is not watching the kids during the day since he's sleeping then so we found an amazing daycare/preschool at a church. We love it and the kids enjoy it so much. We are amazed at how much they are learning each day! By the middle of the summer we will test Zac to see if he's ready for Kindergarten.

Gabby's hips

I know many of you were keeping Gabby's hips and growth in your thoughts & prayers so I wanted to let you know that at her 2 year old check up, the doctor relieved all worries and said Gabby's muscles are much stronger now and her hips are aligned. She still runs a little funny (which we had to do at the appt. thank goodness we brought Zac along for her to chase around the dr. office) but over time and more practice she'll be perfect. We are so relieved by this because we are convinced she has a future as a dancer so good legs are a must. She'll break into various dancing moves at the most random times. She was the center of attention at lunch after church as she danced in our booth at the restaurant!

Valentine's Day Pictures

Zac & Gabby showed their sibling love this Valentine's Day in the form of hugs, kisses and stealing each other's Valentine Day's candy. If you want to see some pictures of them, go to http://www.smilesbywire.com and enter customer name: Jessica Mertz and Code: LTPP0592115059JCP

I'm sure they will make your heart swell with love!

Gabby turns 2!

The end of January marks Gabby's 2nd birthday. We just can't believe how much she's grown and how much she knows. She really does try to do everything her big brother does. If you want to check out her 2 year old pictures, go to http://www.smilesbywire.com and enter the following customer name: Jessica Mertz and Code: LTPP0592112008JCP

Isn't she such a big girl!

MIA

Sorry we've been missing in action. I'll try to post a few things now and catch everyone up.
